One-to-one personal training in central London

A private studio a minute from Bond Street, and a small team led by two people who have competed at world level.

There is no shortage of personal trainers in London. What is harder to find is one who does more than supervise the hour you are in front of them.

Coaching, not supervision

Anyone can make you tired. Making you better is a different job.

Supervision is showing up, counting the sets, and sending you home. It is what most personal training actually is, and it is why most people stop after four months.

Coaching is everything around that. The programme changes as you change. We are in contact during the week, not just on the day. If your sleep has gone we will usually spot it before your training does, and we will change the plan accordingly.

We also explain what we are doing and why, because most of our clients want to understand it and not simply be told.

The hour is the visible part. It is not the part that decides whether this works.

What one-to-one means here

No floor, no queue, no audience

Every session is one-to-one in a private studio. That is not a premium flourish. It changes what is possible in an hour. Nobody is waiting for the rack. Nothing is programmed around what happens to be free. The hour is yours and it runs to your plan.

For some clients the privacy matters in itself. For most, what matters is that an hour actually delivers an hour.

Who we work with

Built around demanding jobs

We work with people in finance and law, people running their own businesses, and people running family investment funds.

If that is you, the pattern is probably familiar. You are good at what you do and used to being measured on it, and you have not had much time for yourself in years. You may not arrive with a number in mind at all. Most people put it more simply than that: tired, starting to ache, and wanting to feel capable again.

Getting your energy back

The most common reason people call, and the one least likely to be solved by training alone.

Losing body fat

Sustainably, without the cycle of losing it and finding it again.

Weight loss coaching

Getting stronger

Strength that holds up in your fifties and sixties, not only in the mirror.

Building muscle

Training around an injury

Working with a body that has history rather than through it.

Training around an injury

Being straight about it

When we are not the answer

We would rather say this here than after you have paid.

If you want an hour of supervised exercise close to home at the lowest price, we are not it. There are good trainers who will do that for considerably less. If you are looking for a rapid transformation before a specific date, we are probably not it either; we work on the assumption you want to still be doing this in five years.

And if the honest problem is that you will not turn up, online coaching will not fix that. The studio and a fixed appointment will serve you better.

How it starts

What the first six weeks look like

Nothing gets written until we have looked properly: blood work, movement analysis, and a fairly blunt audit of how you are currently living. The programme comes out of what that shows.

Then we log everything, because you will want to see it. If you know your numbers in every other part of your life, it is strange that your health is the one place you are guessing.

Most people begin with a six to eight week trial. By the end of it you will know whether this is working. So will we.

Common questions

Before you enquire

How much does personal training cost?
£180 an hour, with block rates available. Full detail on the pricing page.
How often should I train?
For most people, twice a week is the point where progress becomes reliable. We would rather build something you sustain twice a week than a four-day plan you abandon.
Do I need to be fit already?
No. Most people arrive some distance from where they want to be. That is the starting point, not a disqualification.
Where are you?
1 Orchard St, W1H 6HJ, a minute from Bond Street. Open 6am to 9pm, Monday to Friday.
What if I travel a lot?
Either we programme around it, or online coaching is a better fit. We will tell you which.
